Today Head Coach Ian Watson met the press to reflect on the win at Castleford Tigers and this Sunday’s game away at Hull KR.
‘It was massive for us to win on Sunday. It showed we’d learnt from the two close losses the weeks before against Warrington and Wigan.
‘I still think we can improve, we weren’t completing our sets well in the first half at Castleford but our defence was great.’
‘We picked up a couple of knocks from the game, the main one being Rob Lui who will be out for a few weeks. It’s not as bad as we first thought though which is good. The others we’ll see on Friday whether or not they will play.
‘Hull KR are a tough team to face, especially when they’re at home at the KC Lightstream Stadium.
‘I played against James Webster when he played for Hull KR and I played at Widnes and from my playing memories it’s a tough place to go.
‘After winning at Castleford though, we know we can go to tough opposition’s grounds and win.
‘The main thing is that we’re keeping the team mentality. On the first day of pre-season we told the players to leave their ego’s at the door and we’ve got a group of guys who are all focused as a team.’
