Junior Sa'u – "Only us who can turn it around"
Salford Red Devils centre Junior Saโu admits that the side is low on confidence following a disappointing 18-43 defeat at the hands of fellow top four hopefuls Wakefield.
Saโu, sponsored by Bullen Conservartion said: โWe just keep turning off in games which just isnโt good enough.
โObviously, weโre down on confidence and thereโs only us who can turn it around individually and as a team.
โWeโve got to keep working hard and get back to the drawing board, fix the errors and just keep trying heading into these final few games.
โYou can see the boys are down but we need to stay positive. Weโve got three more games to give it a good crack and just make sure we give it our all in these final three games and see where we end up.
โWhether we make the top four or not weโve got to go out there and give it our all these next three week and play with some pride.
Saโu returned to the Salford side after not featuring since the Challenge Cup semi-final and says he can always get better on a personal level.
Saโu said: โIโve got to go back and look at my individual performance and see what I can work on because thereโs always room for improvement.
โBut, as a group, weโve got to knuckle down and put some performances in through these final three week starting against Huddersfield next Saturday.โ
Flashback: Salford Red Devils 38-8 Wakefield Trinity
Despite knocking Wakefield out of the Challenge Cup the Red Devils havenโt had much luck against Trinity this season in the league however it was a different story when they visited the The Salford Stadium in 2016.
Salford managed to hold a slender lead at half-time but Ian Watsonโs men crossed three times inside five second half minutes to inflict Wakefieldโs second defeat in just nine games.
Niall Evalds opened the scoring for the Red Devils but his effort was soon cancelled out Anthony Tupou. Trinity were given two sin-bins inside the space of five minutes at the end of the first half as Danny Kirkmond was sent for ten for a blatant trip before Ben Jones-Bishop was also given a yellow card for pulling down Evalds as he chased a kick.
Salford took advantage and went into the break ahead thanks to a Ryan Lannon try, which came between the sin-bins, giving the hosts a six-point lead. But, it was a destructive second-half performance from Watsonโs side which saw them end Wakefieldโs four-game unbeaten run.
Mark Flanagan managed to force his way over early in the second half following the return of Kirkmond before Lannon grabbed his second of the game to put the Red Devils in the ascendancy.
The Red Devils made it three tries inside five minutes when Robert Lui crossed on the back of a neat ball from Adam Walne. Both George Griffin and Junior Saโu found themselves on the scoresheet in the dying stages while Jones-Bishop grabbed a consolation for the visitors.
Following the victory Watson was very complimentary of double try-scorer Lannon who had broken into the team in recent weeks hailing his performance and in particular praising his ability to scare Wakefieldโs bigger men with his quick feet and ability to find space.
The team that day: OโBrien, Evalds, Jones, Saโu, Vidot; Lui, Dobson; Kopczak, Tomkins, Griffin, Murdoch-Masila, Hauraki, Flanagan. Interchanges: Lannon, Walne, Bibby, Joseph.

Children took part in a range of activities designed to develop rugby skills before being taught from by the pros. A โtry of the dayโ competition was also run on the Salford Red Devils Twitter account to show off the skills they had learned.
The Salford Red Devils Foundation also donated rugby equipment to local community clubs Salford City Roosters, Cadishead Rhinos and Langworthy Reds last weekend to continue to help the growth of young rugby league talent in Salford and the surrounding areas.

Fact file: Salford Red Devils vs Castleford Tigers
The Red Devils Super 8s home opener against league leaders Castleford Tigers will see the two most free-scoring teams in the Super League this season go head-to-head.
Daryl Powellโs side currently top the try-scoring charts with a huge 134 tries while Salford have crossed for 104 tries โ level 2nd with Wigan Warriors.
Castleford wingers Greg Eden and Greg Minikin have scored 50 of the sides 134 tries in the league this season with half-back Luke Gale also being in double figures.
The Red Devils tries have been distributed a little more evenly with second-rower Ben Murdoch-Masila, who grabbed two the last time Salford hosted Castleford, the clubโs top try-scorer this season with 13.
Full-back Niall Evalds took his tally up to 12 for the season with his spectacular effort at Hull FC last Friday while Greg Johnson, Junior Saโu and Kris Welham are all one try away from hitting double figures for the season.
Welham, who has also enjoyed spells with Hull KR and Bradford, is still in search of his 100th career try. The 30-year-old centre notched a try on the Red Devils visit to the Mend-A-Hose Jungle this season and will be looking to cross again to climb into treble figures.
While Gale is central to everything Castleford produce going forward he trails teammate Michael Shenton in terms of try assists. The England half-back has racked up 18 try assists however Shenton has set-up 19 tries in the Super League this season.
However, both men are surpassed by Salford half-back Robert Lui who has notched up an impressive 21 Super League try assists and trails only George Williams, who has 25, overall.
The Red Devils have won three of the last five meetings between the sides in all competitions however Castleford do have the edge in Super League winning 25 of the 36 meetings since 1996.
