Previous Meetings
Salford come into Fridayโ€™s fixture against Warrington having won two of their last three meetings with the Wolves. The Red Devils earned 24-14 and 38-12 victories over Warrington in 2017 but fell to a defeat earlier this season at the The Salford Stadium.
Last yearโ€™s 38-12 win at the Halliwell Jones Stadium was the first win away at Warrington since 2011โ€™s narrow 18-16 win. Salford have won on four occasions since Warringtonโ€™s move to the Halliwell Jones Stadium also earning back-to-back victories away against the Wolves in 2006.
The Red Devils longest unbeaten streak against Warrington in the Betfred Super League era came in 2001-2002 and 2006 with three consecutive victories on both occasions. Before last seasonโ€™s home victory Salford had lost nine consecutive fixtures against Warrington.
Salfordโ€™s highest margin of victory over Warrington in the Betfred Super League came on the road with an 8-37 win at Wilderspool in 1998. Overall, in the Betfred Super League Salford have been victorious on 17 occasions while Warrington have won 31 of the meetings.
Try-scorers
Junior Saโ€™u is the Red Devils most frequent try-scorer against Warrington in recent memory crossing for eight tries in his last six appearances in this fixture. The centre managed to rack up two braces in last yearโ€™s meetings as well as a double in 2016, also.

Two other players who have had success crossing the whitewash against Warrington are Niall Evalds who scored a hat-trick in last seasonโ€™s meeting at the Halliwell Jones Stadium and Kriss Brining who went over in both encounters in 2017. However, both players are currently sidelined for the Red Devils.
Ryan Atkins has been Warringtonโ€™s talisman in recent years against Salford enjoying a spell of five tries in four games between 2015 and 2016 however the centre hasnโ€™t scored since 2016 and is unavailable for Fridayโ€™s meeting.
Declan Patton and Jack Hughes have both scored on two separate occasions against the Red Devils while Josh Charnley crossed earlier this season to make it one in one against Salford since signing for the Wolves.

As mentioned, Evalds is the most recent player to score a hat-trick in this fixture. Gene Ormsby is the last player to score a treble for Warrington in this fixture doing so in a 18-34 victory back in 2015.
2018 Stats
Wingers Tom Lineham and Josh Charnley are currently level as Warringtonโ€™s top try-scorers in Betfred Super League this season with nine tries apiece. Salfordโ€™s Jake Bibby isnโ€™t far having crossed for eight tries including one in the Red Devils last outing against Widnes Vikings.

Tyrone McCarthy โ€“ who is absent this weekend โ€“ is currently Salfordโ€™s top tackler this season with 400. New addition Greg Burke has also made exactly 400 tackles however a large proportion of these have been for parent club Widnes. Warrington currently have the Betfred Super Leagueโ€™s leading tackler in Daryl Clark who has notched 705.

The Tigers are in Town, but weโ€™ll roar louder!ย

Match Report | Salford Red Devils 26-12 Widnes Vikings

Salford Red Devils returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion after twice coming from behind to earn a crucial 26-12 victory over Widnes Vikings at the The Salford Stadium.
Two tries from Kris Welham alongside further scores from Jake Bibby, Robert Lui and on-loan Widnes man Greg Burke helped secure two valuable Betfred Super League points.
The Red Devils headed into the tie on the back of a disappointing defeat at Hull six days prior, and Ian Watsonโ€™s men looked on course for another loss this time out when Tom Gilmore dived over in the 5th minute.
Jay Chapelhowโ€™s break helped kickstart the move, before Joe Mellorโ€™s grubber kick bounced over the top of Ryan Lannon to allow Gilmore to ground the ball.
Half-back Gilmore then converted his own effort, but it was Salford whoโ€™d score next as Welham blocked Gilmoreโ€™s kick with his leg, before reacting quickest to scoop up the loose ball and dart 40m to cross for a stunning individual effort.
Luiโ€™s conversion landed narrowly wide as the hosts grew in frustration. Soon after, Bibby was denied a try as referee James Child chalked the score off following a knock on from Jack Littlejohn.
Salford werenโ€™t to be undone for long though, less than five minutes later Welham grabbed his second, and 150th career try, as some quick hands from Littlejohn and Lui permitted the centre to jink his way over the whitewash.
Unfortunately for Salford, Lui struck the post from his goal attempt and the mood around the AJ Bell dampened quickly as Welham was controversially sent to the sin-bin, before Jake Shorrocks left the field after suffering a suspected fractured jaw.
Less than a minute later, the visitors regained their lead as the heavily involved Gilmore collected a high ball before cleverly picking out the unmarked Patrick Ah Van who had the simple task of touching down.
Gilmore landed the resulting goal in what proved to be the final point scoring action of the half.
Salford have endured a tough time in recent weeks and despite losing another key player, in the form of Tyrone McCarthy through a hamstring injury, the Red Devils dug in and managed to claw themselves back into the tie ten minutes after the break.
After a free-flowing move saw the ball find its way out wide, Littlejohn forged the gap for Bibby to emphatically finish in the right-hand corner.
Lui was unable to convert the resulting goal but Salford werenโ€™t to be denied as Widnes loanee and debutant, Burke, haunted his parent club after collecting a short ball from Logan Tomkins, before surging over under the sticks.
Lui then added the extras and a late penalty to extend Salfordโ€™s lead to 8 points before things quickly turned sour for the visiting Vikings.
First, loose-forward Chris Houston was sent to the sin-bin following a high challenge on Burke, before then being shown the red-card for dissent as he left the field.
Salford would have the final say though as Lui charged down a Widnes kick before racing 70m to score and complete a stunning comeback and all-round team performance.

Factfile | Hull FC vs Salford Red Devils | Friday 8th June

Ahead of another massive Betfred Super League clash with Hull FC, we take a look at all the facts and stats behind the fixture.
Recent meetingsย
Salford Red Devils and Hull FC have been evenly matched over the last ten meetings between the sides sharing five wins apiece.
The Red Devils came out on top in the most recent meeting with a dominant 24-8 win over Hull in March at the The Salford Stadium. Salford also earned a convincing victory over FC in the same fixture last season running out 54-18 victors at the KCOM Stadium.
However, Hull returned the favour with a 10-34 win over Salford at the The Salford Stadium before beginning their 2018 Super 8s campaign with a 32-18 victory against the Red Devils in Hull.
Salford won three consecutive fixtures against Hull FC between 2014 and 2015 โ€“ their longest winning streak against the Black and Whites ever. A Rangi Chase drop-goal was the difference between the sides in the 2014 Ladbrokes Challenge Cup before the Red Devils won consecutive home fixtures against FC afterwards.
Try-Scoring
When it comes to crossing the whitewash against Hull FC in recent seasons halfback Rob Lui is the man for the Red Devils. Lui has scored tries in four of his last five meetings with the Black and Whites.
The โ€˜Star Manโ€™ crossed earlier this season in the 24-8 victory at the The Salford Stadium and has also scored in each of his last two visits to the KCOM Stadium with the first coming in a ten-try triumph last season.
Marchโ€™s meeting between the sides saw two of Salfordโ€™s 2018 additions cross for their first tries in red. Ben Nakubuwai powered his way over from close-range to open his Salford account before Jack Littlejohn rounded off a quick break down the left-hand flank to get off the mark at the The Salford Stadium.
Hull FC scored just a solitary try in the last meeting between the clubs in March thanks to Dean Hadley however there are a couple of Hull players who enjoy playing against the Red Devils.
Halfback Albert Kelly โ€“ who didnโ€™t feature in the last meeting between the teams โ€“ has crossed for three tries in his last two games against Salford. Carlos Tuimavave has scored three tries in his last three appearances versus the Red Devils grabbing a brace in last yearโ€™s Super 8s clash.
2018 Betfred Super League Stats

Flashback | Salford Red Devils 52-14 Huddersfield Giants | 9th September 2017

Ahead of tonightโ€™s fixture against Huddersfield Giants we take a look back at the last meeting between the sides at the The Salford Stadium in which Salford earned their first-ever Super 8s victory.
The Red Devils ran out comfortable victors crossing for nine tries which marked their first win for almost three months and their first-ever win in the Betfred Super League play-offs/Super 8s.
Salford went into the break with a dominant 30-4 lead over the Giants. Kris Welham opened the scoring as he took advantage of some poor Huddersfield defence from Rob Luiโ€™s kick. Mid-season arrivals Tyrone McCarthy and Manu Vatuvei furthered the hosts lead.
Welham doubled his account for the afternoon before Niall Evalds jinked his way through the Giants defence. Jermaine McGillvary did cross before the break for Huddersfield, but Ian Watsonโ€™s side remained in control.
And, their control carried over into the second half with Vatuvei and Jake Bibby both scoring in quick succession to all but confirm victory for Salford. Oliver Roberts scored for Huddersfield, but it failed to slow the Red Devils down.
Back-row duo Ben Murdoch-Masila and Josh Jones both forced their way over in the closing stages to round off a fantastic afternoon at the The Salford Stadium. Huddersfieldโ€™s Ryan Hinchcliffe did score the final try however it was definitely Salford that were laughing after a rampant display.
Salford Head Coach Ian Watson: โ€œI donโ€™t think we have been as good as that in a game-plan for some time. The boys out there have done themselves proud.
โ€œI thought we won the energy battle. We are a team that like to play, and I thought we did some things really well.
โ€œThis has been a real tough period for us with a number of losses, but Iโ€™ve always said weโ€™d learn things as a group because the Super 8s has been a new experience for us.
โ€œWe have just got to worry about ourselves. The table will look after itself. We have been focusing on us rather than worry about chasing a Grand Final. We will take each step as it comes.โ€

Salford: Evalds; Bibby, Welham, Saโ€™u, Vatuvei; Lui, G. Oโ€™Brien; Kopczak, Tomkins, Hauraki, Murdoch-Masila, Jones, McCarthy.

Salford firstย team players Jake Bibby and Ryan Lannon went down to localย community club Langworthy Reds with Red Devils Assistant Coaches Martinย Gleeson and Willie Poching to give their U9’s a coaching masterclass.
The youngsters were given defensive drills focusing on tackle technique, holding their line and one-on-one defence. Langworthy Reds have given us some exceptional feedback from the evening and we all hope their U9’s kick on and use what they’ve learned in their upcoming fixtures.

Match Report | Wigan Warriors 30-0 Salford Red Devils

Salford Red Devils fell to a second successive Betfred Super League defeat as Wigan Warriors ran out comfortable 30-0 winners on a frustrating evening at the DW Stadium.
Sam Tomkinsโ€™ brace alongside further scores from Oliver Gildart, Tony Clubb, George Williams and John Bateman ensured the Warriors moved to within two points of league leaders St Helens.
The Red Devils were fortunate not to have conceded just four minutes into the contest as George Williams broke clear before flicking inside to the onrushing Liam Marshall, however the latter couldnโ€™t keep hold of the ball after some good pressure from stand-in full-back Derrell Olpherts.
Olpherts was involved again minutes later after teaming up with Jake Bibby and Kris Welham to force Willie Isa into touch just when a try looked certain.
Despite making a strong start to the contest, Salfordโ€™s efforts were undone midway through the half as former Red Devil Oliver Gildart cut inside before racing clear under the sticks to touch down.
Sam Tomkins converted the resulting goal and the Warriors were in again moments later as Marshall capitalised on an error from Bibby before finding Tony Clubb who powered over the line from close-range, despite the best efforts of two Salford defenders.
Shaun Waneโ€™s men were in a ruthless mood and found themselves over for a third occasion in the 31st minute as Williams jinked his way through the Salford line to cross over before Tomkins added his third goal.
The Wigan full-back then attempted to land a drop-goal from the 30m mark but Olpherts comfortably collected as the ball fell short of the sticks seconds before the half-time hooter.
After the break the hosts flew out of the blocks and thought theyโ€™d scored as Sam Powell darted over the line, but referee Chris Kendall came to Salfordโ€™s aid after ruling the try out.
Wigan werenโ€™t to be denied for long however, the lively Tomkins picked up a short ball from Tommy Leuluai before forging his way under several Red Devil counterparts to cross over.
Salford regrouped and almost found their way over as Daniel Murray pierced his way through the Warriors line, but the forward knocked on after an explosive tackle from an opposition defender.
Things soon worsened for Ian Watsonโ€™s side when Tomkins wormed his way over to grab his second try in what was a carbon copy of his first effort.
The Warriors werenโ€™t done there however, John Bateman produced a sublime dummy to deceive the Salford line before diving over with ease to complete the victory.

Kingsland Drinks Try of the Month | April 2018 – Jake Bibby

Salford Red Devils winger Jake Bibby was the winner of Aprilโ€™s Kingsland Drinks โ€˜Try of the Monthโ€™ competition after he finished a superb off-the-cuff team try at Huddersfield.
The try began with Weller Hauraki and Rob Lui linking up to find Lama Tasi however, Tasi wasnโ€™t taking the tackle offloading back to Lui.
The halfback found Ben Nakubuwai, who similarly wasnโ€™t happy going to ground and gave the ball to Mark Flanagan who pulled off a lovely one-handed catch.
Hauraki eventually found himself back in possession and threw a sublime inside dummy to Kris Welham before a โ€˜out of the back doorโ€™ offload to Bibby out wide who finished in style.
But, why just read about the try when you can watch it here:

Match Report | Salford Red Devils 38-4 Wakefield Trinity

Salford earned back-to-back victories Betfred Super League for the first time since May 2017 with an emphatic 38-4 victory over Wakefield Trinity at the The Salford Stadium.
Jake Bibby grabbed his second double in as many weeks while Junior Saโ€™u, Tyrone McCarthy, Ryan Lannon, George Griffin and Greg Johnson all also found themselves on the scoresheet. Lui kicked two goals before leaving the field due to injury with McCarthy and Jack Littlejohn putting on their kicking boots in the second half.
Coming into the game, the Red Devils were already against it with Lama Tasi, Lee Mossop, Josh Jones, Weller Hauraki, Manu Vatuvei and Kriss Brining all sidelined however Salford couldnโ€™t have asked for a better start.
A flowing move to the left-hand side eventually found Saโ€™u whoโ€™s sheer pace and power got him through the Wakefield line before he shrugged off Reece Lyne in the process of scoring. Lui converted and would add a further penalty goal midway through the half. Ian Watsonโ€™s men defended resiliently in the first half and went into the break with an 8-0 lead.
Half-back Lui โ€“ who had been partaking in a fitness test prior to kick-off โ€“ pulled up with a calf injury early in the second half meaning the Red Devils had to move Josh Wood into the halves and Logan Tomkins would see out the game at hooker.
The reshuffle didnโ€™t faze the hosts as Niall Evalds made a 70m dash from a 20m restart before being hauled down by Lyne, who subsequently slowed the tackle down and was rewarded with ten minutes in the sin-bin. McCarthy kicked his first goal for Salford to extend the advantage to 10-0.
And, it was the back-rower who went over for the next Salford try as McCarthy simply outmuscled the Wakefield defence to plant the ball down from close-range. He again followed up with the boot from in front of the posts.
Salford continued to control the game and Lannon crossed ten minutes into the second-half after being the quickest to react to a fortunate ricochet. Joe Arundel scored Trinityโ€™s only try shortly after, but the Red Devils really grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck when Bibby scored in the corner following some slick hands wide.
With just over ten minutes remaining Salford turned on the style and ran out comfortable winners. Returning forward Griffin powered his way over after the Red Devils forced an error from Wakefield bringing the ball off their own line. Littlejohn converted.
Bibby made it four tries in two games with an almost identical effort to his first of the game before Johnson rounded off a wonderful victory latching onto the ball after Saโ€™u stabbed the ball into the in-goal.
The victory sees Salford climb above Trinity into 7th place in the Betfred Super League ahead of hosting the current leaders St Helens on Thursday.

Three talking points | Huddersfield Giants 12-30 Salford Red Devils

Salford earned an impressive 12-30 victory over Huddersfield – their fifth consecutive away win at the John Smith’s Stadium – and we take a look at three talking points from the game.ย
Away victory
Salfordโ€™s 12-30 victory over Huddersfield at the John Smithโ€™s Stadium marked their first win on the road for almost ten months and what a victory it was!
A double from Jake Bibby alongside tries from Mark Flanagan, Ben Nakubuwai and Weller Hauraki saw the Red Devils earn a much-needed victory. Rob Lui was on form with the boot kicking five goals.
The Red Devils have come close to winning away from home this season with narrow losses at the likes of Wakefield Trinity and Widnes Vikings but with an away win under their belts in 2018, Ian Watsonโ€™s men will be looking to kick on in the coming weeks both on their travels and at the The Salford Stadium.
Jake Bibby
The winger crossed for two late tries to round off a hard-fought victory at the John Smithโ€™s Stadium and was one of the standout performers for the Red Devils.
Both of Bibbyโ€™s scores came when the game already looked to be won but the winger finished in fantastic fashion to help Salford end the game in style.
However, it wasnโ€™t just in attack where the youngster impressed. Innes Senior crossed for the Giants, but Bibby has his number after that twice stopping the Huddersfield winger from scoring in the corner.
Dominance
Salford dominated the game for large periods earning plenty of penalties on the back of solid running and quick play-the-balls.
Once again, the forwards matched the likes of Ukuma Taโ€™ai and Sebastine Ikahihifo while the outside backs were consistent bringing the ball from deep inside the Salford half.
The Red Devils also managed the game very well in the closing stages when Huddersfield looked like they may edge their way back into it which eventually paid dividend as it was Ian Watsonโ€™s men who ran away with it.
