Away from the rugby field, Ryan Brierley has a slightly different responsibility.

In 2020, he established the Player’s Player; a sports management company based in the North West, covering the whole of the United Kingdom and beyond.

One of many athletes on his books is Manchester City and Lioness star, Jess Park.

Speaking exclusively to our YouTube channel, after penning his new three-year contract, Brierley was discussing why he decided to pursue becoming an agent.

He said: “I love that side of it; looking after players and representing them.

“It’s funny because when I first set it up, my agent told me to go nowhere near it – he said it’s one of the worst jobs in rugby league!

“I’ve strictly kept it to football, which has helped me massively. Just the fact that they trust me with their career is nice, it’s really humbling that when things go wrong, they turn to me.

“I’d like to think I’ve gone through enough in my career where I can give advice and knowledge that is useful to them.

“Because I think I’ve not had it all my own way in my career, I’ve had to go through some tough times as well, in different scenarios that are difficult for young players to go through.”

Park – who kindly came down to one part of Brierley’s contract shoot – has made five appearances for the England Women’s national team, scoring one goal.

That strike came on her debut in November 2022 – a night Brierley recalls very fondly.

He stated: “I’d like to think I’m well-versed and in a good position to give advice to young players, and the way that they trust me with a lot of stuff is really nice.

“Seeing one of your players play for England at Wembley; I didn’t think I’d ever get close to that, so to see that happen, I kind of get the feeling of when my mum and dad watch me play, how good it feels, how special it feels.

“So that’s a pretty special feeling and one that I want to last forever.”

Brierley finished by admitting his own experiences have shaped how he approaches different situations with the players involved with his agency.

“Ultimately, it came from a position where I didn’t want to let any of my players go through a day of what I went through,” the fullback continued.

“There’s been tough moments in my career and hopefully the players don’t go through any of that, and I can help them.”

Ryan Brierley couldn’t hide his delight after penning another three-year contract at his boyhood club.

From the stands to under the sticks, the remarkable rise of one of our own continues.

After enjoying what was likely the best season of his professional career in 2023, Brierley has put any speculation to bed with this new long-term deal.

Finally becoming a red in 2022, the fullback quickly established himself as the club’s number one and hasn’t looked back since.

He has made a name as one of the best support players in the competition. He is so often at the heart of our best attacking displays, but Brierley’s defensive game has also been a major standout during 2023.

Speaking exclusively to our YouTube channel, Brierley was thrilled to finally confirm his stay.

He said: “I’ve really enjoyed my time since I joined the club and – hopefully – we can get a few more players over the line to add to an already decent team, and improve on last year, which is the main thing.

“This team needs success over the next couple of years and hopefully I can be influential to that.”

“All my family are buzzing – they all get a couple more free tickets don’t they,” Brierley joked when asked how his family feel about extending his stay.

“I’ve made no secret about it, the people who come to the games are my people. Obviously my family are really proud and seeing them in the stands every week is pretty special.

“There’s no place I’d rather be!”

His connection to Salford Red Devils is perhaps deeper than anyone in the current squad. Brierley has mentioned in the past how his dad used to take him to our old ground, the Willows and sit in the famous Shed End.

“My brother text me something similar because we used to go to the games together when we was younger,” he responded when asked about playing for his boyhood club.

“It probably hasn’t really sunk in yet. It will probably be when I finish my career, one of the proudest moments knowing I’ve fulfilled a dream.

“To extend my stay is brilliant, but just to play one game was pretty special for me and my family, so no-one can take that away from me.

“That was my dream as a kid and it’s definitely a dream fulfilled, so it’s nice to extend the stay a bit longer!”

We are delighted to reveal Ryan Brierley has signed a new three-year contract at Salford Red Devils.

One of our own has put all recent speculation to bed by committing his future at the Salford Stadium until the end of 2026.

This extension comes directly after what was widely regarded as the best of his professional career so far.

In 29 appearances, Brierley provided 18 try contributions across 2023 and was so often at the heart of our best attacking performances.

That, in tandem with some outstanding defensive contributions across the campaign, earned mass plaudits from his teammates, the coaching staff and the wider fanbase.

He was recognised for his incredible efforts by picking up the Supporters’ Player and Coaches’ Player of the Year trophies at our end of season awards evening.

In reaction to confirmation of his new deal, Brierley said: “I am delighted to extend my stay with this club.

“It’s been a crazy few days, but I reiterated all along my desire was to stay here and the club never let me down. They made sure I felt wanted and valued, and stuck to their word.

“My team mates are the best group I’ve been involved with, and that’s a testament to Paul Rowley and his coaching staff, who clearly know how to get the best out of me.

“There’s only one person who I think can deliver a trophy for this club and it’s Paul Rowley – and I want to be here when that happens.

“I have a huge interest in growing the club off the field and believe I can be influential in that area, but my only focus for the next three years is winning a trophy for my club!”

Brierley continued: “I would like to thank Paul King, Ian Blease and Paul Rowley for the work with my manager in delivering what I wanted – and that’s being a Salford Red Devils player.

“I want to publicly thank MUSE for their continued support and allowing us to maximise this moment alongside them.

“I want to say thank you to Marc Darcy Suits, once again, for their sponsorship of the club and making the boys look extremely sharp on match day – and their willingness to make this contract renewal modern, fresh and exciting.

“Thank you to Manchester City, Etihad Airways and Jess Park for there collaboration and support for this content to be shared with you guys.

“Hopefully more eyes from different sports and communities can be excited about these partnerships we are building!”

Head Coach, Paul Rowley has added: “It is fantastic that Ryan has extended his contract and committed long-term to the club.

“He adds so much value on and off the field not only to the team, but to the club as a whole. He had a great year last year and was key to most things good happening.

“Myself and the lads are made up that we get to continue our journey with Ryan by our side and we have total belief in him, and what he brings to our group.”

Director of Rugby & Operations, Ian Blease has also said: “Having come close to signing Ryan on a few occasions previously, it was a pleasure to finally secure his signature in 2022 – and what a great signing he has been for our club!

“Ryan has come into his own at the Red Devils, both as a player and person.

“It is down to his own hard work and deduction to his role within the club that he now one of our most trusted, and influential players.

“It has been a pleasure to reward and extend Ryan’s contract. I believe he has thoroughly deserved it, through both his on pitch performances and the way he operates outside of the club.

“I look forward to sharing the coming seasons with Ryan and his wonderful family!”

Everyone at Salford Red Devils is delighted Ryan has extended his stay at the club and want to wish him a huge congratulations.

We are delighted to reveal talented hooker, Amir Bourouh has signed a new one-year deal at Salford Red Devils.

The 22-year-old will continue his exciting development under the tutelage of Paul Rowley across 2024, as he looks to achieve his full potential in a Red Devils’ shirt.

Bourouh actually made his Betfred Super League debut against Salford, but made the switch from Wigan Warriors in 2022, on a two-year deal.

He has since made 19 appearances for the first-team, with a more prominent role evident across 2023; often trusted in the absence of premiere hooker, Andy Ackers.

During his time at the club, Bourouh has also enjoyed loan spells at London Broncos, Barrow Raiders and Swinton Lions – gaining valuable match experience against some tough opposition.

By signing a one-year extension, the hooker can continue to work and hone his skills under a Head Coach who achieved so much, in the same position.

In reaction to extending his contract, Bourouh said: “I am over the moon to have extended my stay at Salford – looking forward to seeing you all next year!”

Head Coach, Paul Rowley added: “It is great news that Amir has extended his contract.

“The whole playing and coaching group have huge respect for Amir; he’s been a fantastic and valuable team member.

“He is a pleasure to coach and the playing group will be delighted that he is continuing his journey with this bunch of best mates!”

Director of Rugby & Operations, Ian Blease, has added: “Amir is a really exciting talent and I am glad we have been able to extend his contract by a further season.

“He is a player with a lot of potential and this club is definitely the right place for him to realise that – especially under this group of coaching staff.

“It was clear he grew in confidence across 2023 and I look forward to seeing how he can contribute to the team in 2024!”

Everyone at the club would like to congratulate Amir on his new deal.
