Community | Jackson Hastings attends U9 Development Evening
Salford halfback Jackson Hastings attended the U9βs Development Evening at local community club Cadishead Rhinos and was met by a raft of young Red Devils.
This was the third U9βs Development Evening ran by the Salford Red Devils Foundation with two previous events being held at Langworthy Reds and the The Salford Stadium.
There have been around 40 children at each event from local community clubs Cadishead Rhinos, Langworthy Reds, Salford Roosters and Folly Lane.
Hastings, sponsored by Advanced Steel, said: βIt was a fantastic experience for me to go down and see all the young locals playing rugby.
βThere were some great players there who definitely have the potential to make a career in the game further down the line.
βI know how touch Salford are with the local community and it was great for me to represent the Club in this capacity.β
Jackson Hastings | “We have to make sure we do our homework”
Salford Red Devils halfback Jackson Hastings appeared on the BBCβs Super League Show and spoke about his impact at the The Salford Stadium and the difficulty of the upcoming fixture against Toronto Wolfpack.
Hastings, sponsored by Advanced Steel and speaking on BBCβs Super League show, said: βThe results weβve had have been nothing short of amazing.
βI think I just wanted to bring a bit of control and leadership and also a bit of energy and enthusiasm in attack. Everything I do is to play quick and with a positive energy.
βThe position weβve been in as a Club and then finding ourselves in The Qualifiers you have to do everything with a positive mindset. You canβt go into games thinking I hope we win, or I hope this comes off youβve got to be really positive in your approach.β
The Red Devils face Toronto Wolfpack on Saturday at the The Salford Stadium looking to make it four from four in The Qualifiers however Hastings knows how tough the game will be.
βThis weekβs game β apart from the first β will probably be our hardest test.
βToronto are the Betfred Championship side who everyone thinks can really make the Betfred Super League and be competitive so if weβre off by an inch weβll get done.
βWe have to make sure we do our homework and be ready to go.β
You can watch what Jackson Hastings thought of all this weekendβs Betfred Super League and The Qualifiers fixtures by watching the show in full HERE.

Jackson Hastings | “Rob Lui is the best halfback in the competition”
Jackson Hastings was again instrumental as the Red Devils overcame Widnes Vikings on Saturday afternoon however he pointed to his halfback partner Rob Lui as the βbest in the competitionβ.
Hastings, sponsored by Advanced Steel, said: βHeβs the best halfback in the competition for he β hands down.
βThere are some great halfbacks in the competition but these last three games I havenβt seen anything like it.
βHe went off with fifteen minutes to go and we sort of lost our way a little bit.
βI love playing with him, the raw talent that bloke has is unbelievable and he just turns up for training and pulls stuff off that Iβve never seen before.β
π That offload from Rob Lui!
πΉ @SalfordDevils were in fine form in attack yesterday afternoon as they made it two wins from two in The Qualifiers.

Salford have won three consecutive games β for the first time since May 2017 – since Hastingsβ arrival last month but the Australian points to the set-up at the Club as a key factor in the upturn in form.
Hastings said: βItβs a credit to the Club and the way its run.
βThe Club has received a lot of criticism this season in terms of results and the way its been run but itβs been nothing short of amazing since I arrived.
βOur coaching set-up is second to none. Theyβre all former internationals and world class players and their knowledge is just filtering down and slowly but surely, weβre developing a game plan that suits us.
βWeβve got such a good culture here at the moment and weβve just got to keep the ball rolling and hopefully weβll do something special.β
Welcome the Wolfpack!

βIβve played in front of bigger crowds but the noise from our fans and the Leeds fans combined was pretty special for a first game.

Saβu said: βItβs always tough to come here [Wakefield] and try and get the win but you know like I said even though we lost thereβs a lot of positives we can take from this game and keep building.

2018 home kit is an instant hit with supporters
Salfordβs 2018 home kit has been an instant hit with Red Devils supporters who took to social media to express their delight at the kit release.
The kit is a reboot of the home jersey worn by Salford between 1986-1988, a period in which current CEO Ian Blease played, and the fans like the trip down memory lane.
Again, the Red Devils have gone for a red kit but the reintroduction of #FourStripes across the front and on the shoulders has pleased fans. #FourStripes can also be seen on the socks while the new Club crest takes pride of place on the shirt.
Major Club partners Applied Nutrition, Austin Wilkinson, Advanced Steel, Mitsubishi, Prowood, Salmon King and Trust Salford all feature on the 2018 kit.
Salford Red Devils CEO, Ian Blease, said: βIβm also particularly fond of the kit as itβs a reboot of one that I proudly wore in the 1980βs.β
Here is some of the social media reaction:
