SNEYD: “I’LL TRY AND RIDE THAT WAVE AS MUCH AS I POSSIBLY CAN!”

Marc Sneyd is hoping to continue his red-hot form for as long as possible.

The England international was at his thrilling best for a second week running yesterday, as Salford Red Devils claimed a huge scalp over Hull KR.

Coming into the contest with a 100% record after two games, many had predicted the Robins to run out comfortable winners.

But a gritty defensive display, mixed with some attacking flair, fired the Red Devils into a 16-point lead with just 30 minutes to play.

Deon Cross’ sin-binning may have raised a few eyebrows, but Sneyd made sure of the points with a drop-goal just 10 minutes from time.

Speaking to our YouTube channel, Sneyd highlighted the importance of downing a side that have become a bit of a bogey team recently.

“It’s always one I look out for anyway from playing at Hull (FC) and having that rivalry, so for them to be that bogey team was really irritating – to get that win over them so early in the season is massive,” he said.

“We’re just looking forward to next week now, try and get as much of a roll on as we can.”

On his own personal form, Sneyd was his usual humble self when asked whether he feels like everything he touches turns to golden at the moment.

“Maybe a little bit, yeah, if you want to say so!” he laughed.

“I’m just turning up each week and trying to do the best I can for the team, so if them things are coming off at the moment I’ll try and ride that wave as much as I possibly can, and hopefully it continues.”
