The Salford Red Devils make their first appearance since the βMillion Pound Game Miracleβ, in their first pre-season friendly against Championship side Rochdale Hornets at Spotland stadium.
Fresh from a warm weather training camp in Valencia, the Red Devils will be looking to get off to the perfect start in 2017 as they continue to prepare for the new season.
With a five new signings in contention to make their first appearance in a Red Devils shirt, this match provides a good opportunity for Head Coach Ian Watson to get a a good look at his side against a competitive Rochdale side.
Last time we met
The two sides met last January, in a pre-season game ahead of the 2016 season. Rochdale provided a stern test as Salford ran out 44-16 winners at the Spotland Stadium, with 8 individual try scorers crossing for the Red Devils. This game saw a number of current first team regulars make their Salford debut, including Justin Carney and Rob Lui.
