The Salford Red Devils fell to a disappointing 25-0 defeat at the hands of local rivals Leigh Centurions.
In a scrappy game in poor conditions, the Centurions dealt with the weather well and put together a professional performance to deny the Red Devils a top four finish.
Greg Johnson and Junior Saβu returned to the squad for the Red Devils as Ian Watsonβs men looked make it three wins over Leigh this season.
In game strewn with errors from both teams, tries from Greg McNally, Samisoni Langi and Altea Vea saw the Centurions lift themselves off the bottom of the table.
The result means that the Red Devils will finish the regular season in 5th place, unless Wakefield lose by a swing of 16 points on Sunday.
Next up for the Red Devils is the perfect opportunity to respond in theΒ Ladbrokes Challenge cup semi final against Wigan Warriors.
