PAUL ROWLEY NAMED MARCH SUPER LEAGUE COACH OF THE MONTH

by | Apr 9, 2024

Paul Rowley has been named the Betfred Super League Coach of the Month for March.

After masterminding some memorable victories over Hull KR, St Helens and Leigh Leopards, our Head Coach has been recognised for his outstanding efforts.

Ending a 44-year wait for win at Saints, Rowley’s side made history with their performance at the Totally Wicked Stadium.

Deon Cross scored a 75th minute winner to complete a quick-fire turnaround – a real highlight of the month.

Other crucial wins against KR and the Leopards have placed Salford in a healthy position, despite suffering late heartbreak against Wigan Warriors in Round 5.

In reaction to picking up the award, Rowley has said: “It is a privilege to receive accolades that reflect the efforts of the playing group.

“We have had a positive start, and are committed to working hard, and continuing to learn and improve as the season progresses.”

The voting panel is made up of selected members of the rugby league media.

One member of the voting explained their support of Rowley: “Although Salford didn’t win 100% of their games in March, the quality of the results achieved by Paul Rowley and his team is only heightened in the context of their resources and squad depth compared to some of their peers.

“They continue to punch above their weight. Beating Hull KR and St Helens showed Rowley can tactically outgun some of the best in the league, and while they lost to Wigan Warriors, they were in the driving seat to win before a late turnaround.

“Rowley continues to get the best out of players such as Ryan Brierley and Marc Sneyd who are vital cogs in their machine.”
