Logan Tomkins reaction – "We got caught chasing the game"

Red Devils hooker Logan Tomkins was ‘disappointed’ with the sides performance at Hull FC and felt Salford got caught chasing the game.
Tomkins, sponsored by Dr Terry Thorne, said: “I thought we were well off in the second half.
“The first half wasn’t great either but we managed to stick with it and keep things close but the second half we lost our way and got caught chasing the game.
“This led to us putting a lot of ball down and we didn’t play to our game plan and instead started playing erratic rugby which is disappointing.
“The start to the second half wasn’t great I messed up with one tackle and that led to a try and the other try was a soft one as well.
“We pushed the odd ball that we shouldn’t have pushed and it led to some stupid knock-ons and we lost a lot of territory and ball possession.
“New personnel does affect the team but not in a detrimental way we tried to force the ball when we should have stuck in the arm wrestle and tried to improve our completion rate.”
However, Tomkins is looking forward to a ‘big challenge’ next weekend against league leaders Castleford Tigers the The Salford Stadium.
“We’re obviously on a bit of a bad streak at the moment,” Tomkins said.
He added: “It’s probably good that we’ve got Castleford next because you can’t help but get up for games like that and we’re going to have to start at 100%.
“We don’t want to make a habit of losing every week and we need to turn it around as soon as possible.”
Next up for Ian Watson’s men are league leaders Castleford Tigers on Friday 11th August at the The Salford Stadium. Fans can still purchase tickets through the club ticket office, over the phone or online via the club website.
