We are delighted to announce Jamie Pye has signed a professional contract, which means he becomes a full-time member of Paul Rowley’s first-grade squad for 2025.

The prop forward has earned his opportunity after almost eight months of regular training within the first-team set-up.

Pye broke through the ranks at St Helens – signing a three-year academy deal – and was part of the side who reached the Academy Grand Final in 2019.

After a brief trial at Bradford and a spell at Oldham, Pye joined the Red Devils’ Reserves set-up on a dual-registration agreement and scored on his full debut against Wakefield Trinity.

The highly-rated youngster also spent time with England’s Academy in 2020, where he was selected for their Covid-cancelled tour of Australia.

That squad included the likes of Lewis Dodd, Umyla Hanley and Ben McNamara, who are all now regular starters in the Betfred Super League.

He will now work closely with the coaching staff and some experienced members of the team to continue his development for the remainder of 2024, and into 2025.

In reaction to signing his contract, Pye has said: “I am forever grateful for this opportunity Salford has given me. I cannot wait to give my all back to the Club and earn my stripes.”

Head Coach, Paul Rowley has added: “Jamie has worked really hard and gained everybody’s respect at the club for the focussed way he has applied himself in the last 12 months.

“Like many youngsters, the Covid pandemic derailed his progression, but with the support of John Fieldhouse and Gareth Whittaker, Jamie has worked extremely hard. Jamie has worked extremely hard. He is a project and, it is our belief that Jamie has a big future.

“I’m very happy for Jamie to get this chance and continue this journey with Salford.”

Everyone at the Club would like to congratulate Jamie on his new contract and look forward to seeing him wear the red shirt in 2025!
