Jack Wells has joined his hometown club Salford Red Devils, ahead of the 2021 season.
The 23-year-old back-rower joins Kallum Watkins, as the second former Salford Red Devils season ticket holder in the squad for theΒ 2021 campaign.
Wells said: βWhen I watched Salford players walkout before a match as a young fan, Iβd look at them and was in awe. The thought of doing that myself is surreal.
βIβm looking forward to starting a new chapter in my career and to do that at my hometown club really means a lot.
βI was one of those kids, looking up to the players when I went to watch Salford with my brother and my dad.
βI was a season ticket holder for ten years and it was players like Andy Coley and Stuart Littler who inspired me to start my career, so hopefully I can be in the position that they were.”

Wells made his Super League debut for Wigan Warriors at the age of 18, after representing Salford-based amateur club Folly Lane at junior level.

Salford Red Devils head coach Richard Marshall said: “Jack’s a player who is well suited to the modern game.
“The first time we met, he mentioned what it would mean to play for his hometown team.
“I hope he can inspire many future local players to represent our club and I’m sure that will give him a bit of extra motivation, as we go into preseason.”
The signing of Wells on a three-year contract follows last week’s announcements that Harvey Livett has joined ahead of next season and Danny Orr has been named the team’s new assistant coach.
Director of rugby and operations Ian Blease said: βHaving people like Jack in the squad, who have a deep personal connection with the Club, is a huge positive for us.
βHe now joins Kallum Watkins, as another Salford season ticket holder in the side and I believe that can serve as a powerful inspiration to every young supporter in the crowd.
βHe also offers a lot on the field and with the assistance of our medical team, I am excited to see what he can bring to our pack at peak condition.β
