Salford Red Devils head coach Ian Watson credited the club’s supporters for their impact on his team’s victory over London Broncos.
A vocal Salford contingent made the journey to the capital to witness Watson’s charges claim a 30-10 victory.
Watson said: “Everytime we go away the crowd’s really, really loud and our following support’s been really good.
“After the Warrington match, I remember coming home and speaking to my dad about it and my wife, and they were saying you could hear the Salford supporters on the radio.
“They’re really vocal. We need to give them that energy with a really strong start at home, so they get behind us at home as well and give us that kind of energy.
“Our crowds away from home have been outstanding. Even at home they’ve been loud.
“We want more of them if I’m being honest, to get behind us and come and support us at home, and really kick us up the table.”
The victory was Salford’s fifth on the road this season, equalling the club’s Super League record.
The result also took the Red Devils to 12 points, double the tally of London at the foot of the table and just two points from the play-off positions.
Watson said: “We’re not looking at relegation. We want to get enough points to get in a play-off position really and give ourselves the best chance of that.
“We want to aim for that and see where it takes us really. I don’t really want to be worrying about how many points keeps you from relegation. I’d rather other people be worried about that.”
Red Devils supporters’ next chance to get behind the team will come on Friday at the The Salford Stadium, when Salford host Leeds Rhinos.
Tickets for the match are available for purchase from the stadium ticket office, online and by calling 0161 786 1570.
Salford’s impressive form on the road will provide encouragement for the upcoming month, where they will travel to Liverpool to face Hull Kingston Rovers at Magic Weekend.
The deadline for Red Devils season ticket holders to claim a 50% discount on Magic Weekend tickets is midnight on Tuesday. Click HERE for further details.
