Salford Red Devils Head Coach was ‘pleased’ to the victory over Hull FC and show ‘what his side are capable of’.
FC took the lead however four unanswered tries from Ben Nakubuwai, Jack Littlejohn, Robert Lui and Greg Johnson ensured Salford sealed a second consecutive home victory
Watson said: “I’m really pleased with the performance and attitude tonight.
“We spoke about getting an eighty-minute performance after the last two weeks and tonight we got that.
“Our middles stood up well against Hull FC’s – as they have done all season, to be fair and our defensive effort was outstanding.
“We were resilient, worked as a unit and cut out the mistakes and penalties which always makes it easier defensively.
“The boys knew the job, they knew what was expected of them and they delivered – they deserve everything they’ve got from tonight’s game.”
Robert Lui and Jack Littlejohn both crossed for tries in a second-half which saw Salford take control and Watson was impressed with his half-back pairing.
Watson said: “I thought we posed some serious threats for Hull FC down both flanks.
“Rob and Jack were outstanding with ball in hand and their kicking games really helped us pin Hull down numerous times.
“Jack took his try well after a fantastic break from Greg Johnson and Rob stepped up with the boot and put us in front at half-time.”
Niall Evalds continued at full-back after starting the earlier Betfred Super League rounds on the wing and, again, Watson was impressed with the versatile back.
Watson said: “We’re lucky we’ve got Niall who can just drop in at full-back.
“Niall’s an exceptional player and his development will only kick on.”
