Hull KR and Wakefield games postponed

Hull KR and Wakefield games postponed

by | Jul 27, 2021

Positive Covid tests in the Salford camp mean our next two Betfred Super League fixtures – Thursday’s Round 16 match against Hull Kingston Rovers and the scheduled visit to Wakefield Trinity on Monday 2 August, have been postponed.

Under the RFL’s Covid-19 protocols, a team can apply to postpone a match if seven or more senior players are unavailable as a result of Covid-19 – either through positive tests or as close contacts. Unfortunately, Salford have exceeded this threshold, with 12 players and five members of staff affected.

The club wanted to fulfil these fixtures but current protocols dictate close contacts cannot compete despite negative PCR outcomes.

The postponed fixtures will be added to the list for possible rearrangement, although the Betfred Super League table is to be determined by win points percentage to allow for the possibility of not all fixtures being fulfilled.

For those who bought tickets online for Thursday’s game, you will receive an automatic refund within 10 days. Anyone who has purchased via the ticket office, a member of staff will contact you as soon as possible. Alternatively, you can email ticketoffice@ajbellstadium.co.uk
