Red Devils forward George Griffin, speaking to theΒ League Express, admits the side is struggling for confidence following Friday nightβs defeat against Castleford at the The Salford Stadium.
Salford are yet to get off the mark in the Super 8s stage of the season but Griffin knows the Red Devils are still in the hunt for a place in Octoberβs Grand Final at Old Trafford.
Griffin, sponsored by Super Josh, said: βOur form is getting us down. Itβs a confidence thing.
βWe need to go back to what was working for us at the start of the season. We need to do what we do best and throw the ball around.
βOur yardage defence isnβt good enough. Theyβre getting out of their end too easy and we need to fix it up.
Despite being enduring their worst run of the season so far Griffin knows the Red Devils have the quality and character to finish inside the top four come the end of September.
βA lot of people are saying weβve done well just to make the eight, but weβre better than that.
βIt would be upsetting if we didnβt make the four, given our season so far and where we finished at the end of the regular season.
βBut, weβre only a couple of points off the top four β thatβs just a couple of wins. If we can get that in the next game itβs back in the air.
βWeβve lost some big players that go well for us, but the young lads need to step up in their place and we need to take the game to the opposition.β
Fans are reminded that tickets are now on sale for all the Red Devils Super 8s home games against Wakefield, Huddersfield and St Helens. Tickets are also still on sale for Fridayβs trip to Wigan. Supporters are also reminded that season tickets are valid for all Super 8s home fixtures.
